Homemade Protein Shake

I have found this incredible homemade protein shake from Jamie Oliver. Its an alternative to using supplements and protein powder. I think i'd like to fit this in as well as use my normal protein powders. Just sound so good!
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 150g low-fat natural yoghurt or soya yoghurt
  • 100ml of semi-skimmed milk or dairy-free milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or to taste)

Gastrono – Me 

If your local to Bury St Edmunds I really do recommend the little cafe and bakery on St John's Street called Gastrono - Me. From the outside it looks like a bakery but inside is a cafe that does a range of food and has some truly amazing breakfasts. I had the Hash once and just recently I had the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs. Presented on some of their own baked bread. Decent sized portions too!  Here is the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs.  A decent size breakfast! Here is their breakfast menu too!

High Protein Pancake

Here is a recipe for this mornings breakfast. Obviously a healthy recipe but you could smother chocolate spread all over if you wanted to. It's a recipe for a protein filled breakfast that takes a few minutes to prepare and then a few minutes to cook. 
  1. 1/4 cup oats 
  2. Add water and Microwave for 1 min (to get rid of moisture to make a paste) 
  3. Add the rest of ingredients to oats and stir in 
  4. 1/6cup blueberries 
  5. 2 egg whites 
  6. Small mashed banana 
  7. 1 Tbsp peanut butter 
  8. 1/2 scoop protein whey powder
  9. Dash cinnamon 
  10. Add to frying pan with little coconut oil until cooked

High Protein Omelette 

Try this for breakfast! My aim is to have a great breakfast every morning to fuel the body for the day. It has to have plenty of protein and vitamins. Here is the recipe 
  • 3 egg whites (Free Range) 
  • 1 egg yolk (Free Range) 
  • Half a corrgette chopped up 
  • A small red onion 
  • 2 bacon medallions or trimmed rashers 
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce 
Chuck the corrgette, the onion and bacon in a pan, cook until starting to brown. Add the tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce, and turn the heat down. Whisk the eggs in a mug and season (optional). Pour over the contents in the pan and leave to set. Loosen with a spatula and turn over. Serve.

Strawberry Season is here!

The strawberry season is here! In my village they grow the reddest strawberries. Normally only available for a few weeks due to the popularity in the village. There is a farm up the back lanes of my village that has a little stall where they sell jam too! The signs on the main road are put up but left covered until one morning they uncover them to see all of the strawberries between the hours of 9 - 5. Because they are so popular people travel far and wide to get them. In 2015 the harvest was short and they ran out very quickly. This season is supposed to last longer!
